American Sign Language Classes

September 10, 2019 – November 12, 2019

Classes are 6:30 PM – 8 PM weekly on Tuesdays OR Thursdays (PICK ONE). This is a 10-week course.

Registration is required in advance. Please register by August 23, 2019. There are a limited number of seats.

ASL I – Beginning/Basic
This course is an introduction to American Sign Language (ASL). Includes basic grammar, vocabulary, fingerspelling, and numbers.

ASL II – Intermediate/Advanced Beginner
The course demonstrates ASL grammatical rules (facial expressions, body language, body shifting, listing, different categories of classifiers, and gesturing). Includes cultural information related to the Deaf community. You must know basic ASL prior to joining this class.

ASL for Children – age range: 6-11
The course covers basic vocabulary and different topic categories (animals, colors, food, etc.). The children will learn through games, role playing, and videos.
